On Saturday I chaperoned a Stake Dance. At one point I looked up and saw two boys dancing. Granted they were being a little goofy, but it made me smile to think that we live in a world tolerant enough to realize that this is ok. When I was growing up, I think most boys would have been ashamed to try this for fear of being labeled gay or fag or queer.
When I lived overseas, it was not uncommon at all to see boys dancing together, or girls, and this was at Church-sponsored dances. The times are a'changing. :)
ReplyDeleteReally? How did leaders react? I wonder if it will ever get to the point where the boys don't have to be goofy. And I wonder how leaders will react.
DeleteI would sometimes go to BYU's swing club. It was very common for men to swing dance together. I'm glad as a culture we're loosening up.
ReplyDeleteIf only we could get rid of the "Book of Mormon distance rule" when we dance.
